VibeSpot : The New Music Revolution

IMG_20181203_033658.jpg

The music industry in Nigeria is at its prime, the afrobeat sound is international, music acts like Starboy's Wizkid, DMW's Davido, Marvin's Tiwa Savage just to mention a few are getting the international recognition they deserve..

Facts still remains that in a music industry where the norm is to put has much free music you have out, get the popularity you need and then make money on the road, off shows.... Are this big artists really making money in terms of Digital royalties?

And what about the up and coming artists, is there any hope for them, in a industry where music consumers are used to having music content for free.

THE CHNG BLOG sits with the Ceo of VibeSpot Music World, on how this problems can be solved in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry, the African Market and World at Large.

The CHNG Blog : Good day to you Sir, thank you for your time. Kindly tell us your name, company, invention name and website URL?

IFEDE : Thank you very much for having me. My name is Ifede Oluwadara. Ceo of VibeSpot Music World. And we have created the first of its kind Music Streaming Platform called VibeSpot.

Our website is www.vibespotmusic.com

The CHNG Blog : Please could you tell us a little bit about where you are based, your background experience how you first started creating things?

IFEDE: I grew up in a couple of places in Lagos and Ogun state Nigeria. As a young boy, I loved thinking around how to make things easier, a better and more effective way of doing things. I had taught of several things in the past I never really did have the courage to get it done. The ideas kept coming but I never did anything about them. Many times I end up seeing someone doing it years after. I’ve always considered myself pretty inventive. If there was a problem, I’d find a solution!
I went through secondary school like every other child of my age, pretty good memories, I always had bigger dreams.

I started up as an artist in the ever increasingly demanding and voracious music industry after discovering I had a keen interest for music. After releasing a couple of singles it didn’t take me long to discover the problems and challenges faced by the industry especially the business and publicity aspect mostly affecting the up and coming artist. So naturally my attention was drawn to finding a solution to these problems.

The CHNG Blog : Please could you tell me a little bit about your invention, what it is, and how you came up with the idea?

IFEDE : VibeSpot is a mobile application for both artist and fans. The app helps connect the artist to his audience based on location, which is our number one solution. How can an up and coming artist make sales?

The app would curb the excesses of music aggregators and ensure artist gets their money and talents worth. However, the app is not without benefit for the fans, asides having first hand access to brilliant songs by yet to be known future Superstars and already known superstars, the fans also get a certain percent of profits earned by the artist for all songs sold. This way both artist and fans benefits from the music industry.

These among many other awesome features are the things we worked on and it promises to bring a revolution to the music industry, one we have long awaited.

The CHNG Blog: What were the first steps you took after having your idea?

IFEDE: First I suspended my music career and did a lot of research on the subject matter, then I switched from writing and singing into promotions. I had to put myself right in the middle of the business aspect of music so I could see the problems upclose. So I became a music promoter( Ifedeee promotions) and I have
managed quiet a number of up and coming artist, I saw the challenges they faced (rather that we face) and with that knowledge I began to brainstorm on solutions till I had a book full of ideas to solve majority of the problems. Then I consulted my very good friends whom I knew could help turn a Dream To Reality

The CHNG Blog: May we know your friends.

IFEDE: Credits to Dr Asorobi Opeyemi and Dr Abeshin Olawale. They have something that’s really different in how they approach ideas and how they think about it. And they think much bigger than most people.

The CHNG Blog: Did you try and patent or protect your idea in any way and how did you go about it?

IFEDE: YES, we have all the legal requirements properly handled.

The CHNG Blog: What do you think would be the most difficult elements of bringing your invention to market?

IFEDE: Now we are going back to the roots of buying a Compact Disk. In the sense that you need to buy the song to have unlimited access to it.. which is a Download Model.. Only this time, you can't share to a third party what you paid for..

We are not a subscription based platform. No freemium or Premium services. We hate ads in our users music.

Now the trend of the music world is the streaming subscription based platform. Now, we need to educate the world on how buying a song, would assist that Kid who dreams to be a superstar without no financial backing.. His/Her music content would eventually be the Financial BackBone.

We need to embrace the buying model again.

The CHNG Blog: How long do you think it would take from your initial idea to taking it to market, I mean when would you launch.

IFEDE : We would launch in grand style, January 2019.

INTERVIEWER: What have you found are the best ways of promoting your invention?

IFEDE: I think generally the best way is educating the public, the Nigerian music creators and consumers on why we need this platform. Starting with the A List artists.....

And we changing the whole music scene for good.

For whoever is moved by this revolution . Follow VibeSpot on all social media platforms. Be the First to know. When we launch..

Dr. Ovie Ughwanogho: Portrait In Courage And Selfless Service

Dr. Ovie Ughwanogho: Portrait In Courage And Selfless Service
The Delta Central Senatorial candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr. Ovie Emuejevoke Ughwanogho, MD, MBBS, is a medical consultant of global repute. A Fellow and Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, Dr. Ugwhanogho’s birth on 12 January 1970 was historic because it was the day the Nigerian Civil War ended. He is an intellectually resourceful, professionally accomplished and patriotic Nigerian who has devoted his life’s struggles to the good of humanity.
Education
He attended Aganbi Primary School, Eku, where he came up in the first position throughout his stay. He also emerged as the pupil with the best handwriting in the old Ethiope Local Government Area (now made up of Ethiope East, Ethiope West, Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Local Government Areas). He moved on to the highly cosmopolitan University Demonstration Secondary School in Port Harcourt where he again held the first position in academics throughout his stay in that competitive school. He distinguished himself in debate, drama, sports and earned distinctions in all the subjects in the West African School Certificate Examination of 1987. Ovie achieved all of these in spite of the death of his dear father when he was just six years.
He proceeded to the prestigious Government College, Ughelli, for the Higher School Certificate (HSC), but while there his academic exploit saw him not only passing the entrance examination of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, but also the Joint Admissions and Matriculation (JAMB) examination which got him admission to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Benin in 1988. While studying at the University of Benin, he distinguished himself in many ways as a scholar, student activist and cultural ambassador of the Urhobo nation. He obtained the MBBS in 1995.
The Quest for the Golden Fleece
Dr. Ovie Ughwanogho’s quest for advanced knowledge in Medicine saw him migrating to the United States of America where he underwent advanced professional training. He was admitted to the prestigious Mount Sinai University School of Medicine Hospital for specialty training in Internal Medicine. He passed the American Board of Medical Specialty in Internal Medicine, obtaining the Doctor of Medicine (MD) and becoming a consultant in Internal Medicine. He attended the highly rated New York State University School of Medicine Hospital to undergo specialization in Infectious diseases and passed the examination at fellowship level. Thus becoming double Board certified in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine obtaining licenses to practice medicine and surgery in New York and Georgia in 2002 and 2004 respectively.
Leadership and Selfless Service
Dr..Ovie Ughwanogho’s leadership and selfless bent manifested early in his life. He founded a Non-Governmental Organization called the Intellect Organization at the age of seventeen to inspire academic interest among youths in Urhoboland. The NGO not only organized debates and quiz competitions, but also gave tutorials (evening lessons) to secondary school students preparing for the West African School Certificate Examination and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
His long and selfless service to Urhoboland includes his being the president of the National Union of Urhobo Students and National Union of Orogun Students at the University of Benin in the 1990s. He later served as a member of the central working committee of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) when Chief James Edewor was the union’s president-general.
The Dr. Ovie Ughwanogho Foundation (DOUF) which he founded has championed the development of Urhobo human capital by awarding scholarships, in some cases up to the doctoral level, to deserving students, sponsoring vocational and entrepreneurship training for Urhobo youths. He has renovated and built facilities for some schools and sponsored sporting events to develop Urhobo talents. He also sponsors the annual Urhobo Language Competition to ensure that the language does not go into extinction. It was in recognition of his selfless service to Urhoboland that he was conferred with the title of Ejoyovwi of Effurun-Otor and the Erukakpo of Orogun.
He is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metro Infectious Disease Associates Inc. in Atlanta, USA. He has been a consultant to many hospitals in the US and a clinical instructor to many medical schools within and outside the US.
He is married with children.
Conclusion
With the foregoing, there is no doubt that Dr. Ovie Ughwanogho is well prepared to serve the Urhobo nation in the Nigerian Senate. His mantra has been the servant-leader model of legislative representation that is anchored on accountability. He has entered into a social contract with the Urhobo people who have had no competent representation in the Senate in recent times. Dr. Ughwanogho’s brilliance and erudite articulation will give Urhobo a positive voice in the Senate. His vast knowledge and global exposure will produce motions and bills. His selfless disposition will enable him bring democracy dividends in abundance to our people by way of projects and human empowerment. His international network will bring the world to Urhoboland and also take Urhobo to the world.
A new dawn beckons on the Urhobo nation. We must join Dr. Ughwanogho in ensuring that we do not miss the train of a new Nigeria. Urhobo enomasooo…. Let us avoid the mistake of yesterday.
Wadooooooo….
My Vision
To evolve a legislative agenda for the well being of the Urhobo people and for national development.
My Mission
To awaken Urhobo consciousness by introducing a new deal through the servant-leader model of accountability and put the Urhobo nation on the path of a new beginning of quality representation and collective development.
My Manifesto
My manifesto encapsulates my raison d’ tre, as a lawmaker, which is to reframe the legislative agenda into a three pronged engagement of representation, lawmaking and oversight functions. In doing this, I have come up with an Eight-Point Agenda which shall be the touchstone of my mission in the Senate. The Eight-Point Agenda is enumerated as follows:
Employment Generation through
Mechanized agriculture
creating ICT hubs
industrialization
establishment of modular refinery
Sponsorship of Bills
environmental remediation
electoral reforms
restructuring and federalism
social justice
Infrastructure
I shall be proactive in ensuring that infrastructural development is accelerated in our senatorial district with focus on the needs of our people as shown by the needs assessment I commissioned.
Servant-Leadership
I see my going to the Senate as a service to my people who are sending me there. I shall therefore, remain accessible and accountable to them, doing their wish and ensuring that their interest is protected at all times.
Urhobo Development Foundation
I wish to set up an Urhobo Development Foundation which will function like an interventionist agency. I conceive it as a pool of fund from which all aspects of Urhobo development will be supported.
Health Supports
I will promote health education among our people and introduce mobile clinics that will reach the remotest parts of our constituency to cater for the health of our people.
Power
I will take the necessary steps to ensure that the Urhobo nation enjoys adequate power supply in order to boost our quest for industrialization and promote small scale business.
Peace and Security
The entrenchment of peace and security shall be taken seriously in order to attract local and foreign investors to transform Urhoboland into a production hub.
I am optimistic that with your support and votes I will make it to the Nigerian Senate to represent you my dear people and together we begin the realization of our manifest destiny as a great people.
Wadoooooo….

ALL EYES ARE ON MZ KISS On The Cover Of Mystreetz Magazine

According Sesan Adeniji, Publisher of Mystreetz Magazine,

“It might be hard to comprehend the reasons why fans are going bonkers over her music and brand until you watch her bring the roof down on stage. In a rising crescendo, Mz Kiss domination is becoming increasingly unavoidable. Bookies that once penned her down as one of the next female music properties to explode into extraterrestrial stardom, are also finding the rate of her ascendancy incredible but understandable.

Her hunger for success, the professionalism and work ethic she brings to the table are some of the reasons why things are working out. Either you know Mz Kiss by name or via her songs on your mix tapes, the fact remains that this lady is a bundle of talent; a sort of an enigma. In a good way, she bullies anyone into seeing the greatness in her brand. With the rate at which she continues to gain ground courtesy of not just her songs but on those she’s featured on, it’s understandable why all eyes are on Mz Kiss”

The memorable Omo Better concert was hosted by Shody, hardvantge and Toyin Abraham as Seyi Law, Ushbebe, Woli Arole, Kenny Blaq, Ijebu and others held the show down with interesting comic displays.

However, multitude of fans at the event witnessed classy performances by a good number of classy Disc Jockeys like DJ Spinall, DJ Lambo, DJ Kaywise, DJ Khoded and DJ Enimoney.
